EDGAR ALLAN POE 2

Needing money desperately, and realizing that poetry could not possibly support him, he turned to the writing of short stories for magazines such as Nathanial parker Willis evening mirror. He finally achieved immense popular fame through the publication of “The Raven “(for which he received 10) on February 8, 1845.
Later he became editor, part owner and for a short time, the owner of The Broadway Journal. He published The Raven and other poems in 1845.Despite these successes, Poe remained very poor. In 1846 he moved into a small cottage in Fordham, where he lived with his wife Virginia died.
